Aldi’s SpecialBuys aisle is known as a treasure trove of unexpected finds – go in for your essentials and leave with an underwater fishing camera or a £29.99 Salter espresso machine.

Whether you’re after an affordable alternative to Oliver Bonas’s Insta-worthy scallop bed frames or a £20 dupe of Made.com’s £100 velvet foot stall, the budget-friendly store is also great at providing cheaper versions of luxe products. And homeware and kitchen appliances aren’t the only areas it excels in.

The German supermarket chain is also renowned for its beauty range, Lacura. Products are often inspired by premium brands such as Pixi, Liz Earle, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden and Sisley, but are sold at the fraction of the price.

And despite the low price tag, its dupes do live up to the hype thanks to the formulas and ingredients being close copies of high-end products.

Its new skincare has dropped at the perfect time if, like us, your skin is looking and feeling dry and dull in the wake of storm Darcy. While there’s a range of new products available, from face masks to jade rollers, it’s the £6.99 face cream that’s caught our eye.

Containing black rose extract – a premium ingredient which is said to plump and brighten skin as well as ease fatigue – it sounds like the perfect antidote to the wintery weather. It’s said to be an affordable dupe for Sisley’s black rose skin infusion cream, which will set you back £146.50.

Lacura ebony rose face cream Much like Sisley’s black rose skin infusion cream (£146.50, Spacenk.com), this Lacura ebony rose face cream boasts an impressive ingredients list. Formulated with black rose extract and shea butter, along with vitamin B3, it is said to be a great twice-daily moisturiser that promises to leave skin more hydrated and radiant. The product is also cruelty-free and has been dermatologically tested. While we can’t vouch for how well Aldi’s version performs against Sisley’s, with a 95 per cent difference in price, we think it’s worth a go. Owing to its popularity, it’s currently out of stock online but will be back soon, and is available in-store from 21 February. {{#hasItems}} Price comparison {{/hasItems}} {{#items}} {{ merchant }} £{{ price }} Buy now {{/items}} {{#hasItems}} {{/hasItems}}
